UNAFFILIATED CONTACT
IF YOUR DESIRED INTERACTION IS TIME-SENSITIVE, PM US FIRST TO WORK OUT THE DETAILS.

CREE.
Owner of the discreet Gilded Cage hideout. Cree has traveled all of El Nysa and established his spies, or "little birds" in every corner of the world. He knows intimate details about important figureheads of both factions, and suspects that the refugees are not all that they seem to be. Despite being a known criminal and the apparent orchestrator of the VIOLET 2710 attacks, he provides work for the lower class and seems to have a generally positive reputation. He has a strong dislike for Ashti.

Cree is almost never seen without a small bird on his shoulder. You might find that you have seen this bird before, and if you listen closely enough, you will hear it speak common to its owner. If you specifically request contact with the the bird alone, it is entirely possible it will carry out a conversation with you.

A character's first interaction with Cree is free of any favor, but they will be required to take up a job (thief, enforcer, informant) before they can return for more information. Sign up at the EMPLOYMENT THREAD and direct any other inquiries by characters here. IC consequences for breaking silence on his whereabouts to their other NPCs will be discussed by PM.

[ Search as he might, there's no signs of any violent reaction for Cree to find. There's not even outright antagonism in Cain's expression, just a wry sort of weary acceptance. He can't be surprised by any of this, not after what had happened to his homeland. But still, it's tiring, being thrown from one land teetering on the brink of war into another full to brimming with political dangers.

Cain shakes his head, spreads his hands a little, wordless apology for the offense. He's very aware of the situation he's in, that he's here at Cree's pleasure, regardless of his own opinion of the attacks. His lips quirk into a rueful smile.
]

I'm here because I was invited, and I'm hoping it is a nest and not the spider's parlor. Believe me, I've no intention of making trouble right now, or of stepping on any eggs. I'm only seeking answers.

He meets Cree's eyes, holds Cree's gaze for a moment, showing his sincerity. Whatever steps he might have to take, whatever his sense of duty might demand, that comes later. Figuring out what's going on has to come first before he makes any moves, and that means not being stupid enough to insult someone who holds the answers.

After a moment, hoping he's been understood, he lets his gaze drop to the now-revealed tattoo on Cree's wrist.

What did you intend with those attacks? What are you aiming for, causing unrest like that? [ Unrest in both Olympia and Wyver, and Cain can imagine a number of reason why someone like Cree might want that — power, profit, some warped form of justice, maybe even revenge. He doesn't know Cree or the situation of this world well enough to tell which it is yet.

He adds, a bit more dryly:
] And since it's the original, I can't help but wonder what that stands for.
