They'll learn a decent amount of stuff about their cool companions! The boy is very willing to both train a little and to open up more; his woes mostly center around trying to work for Vanderhorn, because he earnestly wants to do a good job but the man is impossible to please. He has a lot of stories to tell about small incidents where he doesn't even understand what set off his boss' temper: things like "I was only trying to organize his desk," and "I thought packing his belongings was my job, but he shouted at me," etc.

The bodyguard gets rowdier and rowdier the more she drinks, and she too has stories to tell. Notably she has nothing really interesting to say about working for Vanderhorn; it seems that he mostly ignores her too when not criticizing her drinking, but he pays very well so she puts up with him. She has plenty of gossip about all the people he knows at court, though: apparently he sleeps around, and how! Who knew!

Vanderhorn, for his part, is surprisingly fine being ignored by the group at large. When he is not criticizing anyone, he spends his time alone reading a stack of letters he's brought with him, and at one point will simply go off alone for an hour or so without speaking to anyone.
