All right! Now I'm just wondering which position he could possibly apply for. Because in canon, he has done research on pheromones or scents (in the creation of perfumes and manipulating its effects), so maybe... Scientist? Even an Assistant will do.

You're free to handwave which position he actually applies for depending on what you think is most fitting! For what you've described, though, Scientist or Potions Researcher (if you consider perfumes a non-drinkable potion) could be a good fit. We don't require an IC "interview" to be hired, so it's up to you!
